Movement is the path our eyes follow when we look at a work of art. The purpose of movement is to create unity in the artwork with eye travel. This can be achieved by using repetition, rhythm, and action. Movement ties the work together by relating the various components of a work together.

-- TEXTURE --

Visual texture is the illusion of a 3-dimensional surface. A 2D surface can be made to "look" 3D simply by adding texture and depth to the picture. You may not be able to "feel" the texture but you can still "see" that it is there. In some cases, a viewer is almost tempted to reach out and touch the picture, thinking it will have a real texture. Texture is yet another clever way to deceive the eye into thinking and seeing something that really isn't true.
