Making a skinny vase look fat

I took a picture of a vase from google images and made it appear fatter than it was before.  The picture on the left is the deformed fatter vase and the one on the right is the original vase.  The one on the left has a deformaty which was done on purpose because not every single object ever made by man is perfect.

Field Assignment #18  -OPEN SOURCE!!

In this assignment i was supposed to "try something Open-Source",so i gave a shot at Blender,an open-source and freely distributed program that is used for 3D modeling, art and animation.Blender's a pretty good program and its more than perfect for developers who have a low budget. It's commonly used by 3rd party developers and the program itself has many features making it extremely handy.

-The interface might look complicated but it becomes all clear after some time in using the program.

Blender is well known among most 3D artists, and it's ability of being easily customized using plug ins is more than useful.

On the animation part, blender does an okay job,it might not be something as good as 3dsmax or Maya, but it's really powerful considering its free.

Here's a trailer of a movie (Big Buck Bunny) made by the Blender foundation showing the application's capability.

sorry my wordpad file didnt fit in this crappy box so i had to printscreen and copy into photoshop.

Camouflage Photo

I erased her main body and made the background black to create a camouflage effect. I used the blur tool to blend the rough ends to smooth the overall feel of the photo.

Sound Effect

I just discovered how to make sound effects in Audacity!
Here's the file View andy-sound-effect-mp3

So basically, I took the song from 'Destroy Dora' and sped it up by, like I dunno, 3000%. And then reversed it, added delay, and applied fade-in. Or at least I think that's what I did, I can't quite remember, it happened two days ago.

WCI Planner

K so this is my rough draft
A couple things..
A) I dont know if they'll let me print "red for the blood".. but it's part of our school song
B) I need the school logo.. but i dont know where to get a high res. one..
Any further ideas?

Oh and I need to fix the Vikings down the side of the page... the red vikings wont be right beside the blood when I fix it up.

HM Field Assignment 9

"Take a Certain Word Out of Something"
I'm using the apple "It's Showtime" add again.. except this time, I'm totally redesigning it to say "It's ____time"..

Because I can't just clone-stamp the letters out (because of the intricate combination of layers, gradation and lighting), I decided to recreate the image, without the apple logo, or any text.

So, the original image...

My attempt at recreating it...

And now, adding the logo and words, except for "Show"

HM Field Assignment 8

"Workin' For the Man"

For my eighth, and I hope final (we had to do 8 right?) field assignment, I created an ad for ships (ships = oil = money = power = corruption).

However, I didn't include any text at all. While this might seem like a bad thing, especially for an advertisement, the purpose of this advertisement is simply to create a basic template, upon which all the flashy advertising techniques can be added. In fact, if someone even just left the advertisement as is, and just added a website, logo and/or phone number at the bottom, it would certainly grasp the audiences attention.

My advertisement sort of mimics a really effective technique employed by apple - little text, and as a result, emphasis placed on the logo, and graphical elements of the piece.

A comparison of the two is shown below.

HM Field Assignment 7

I feel like I'm finally catching up on my field assignments...

This is a war background that I made in photoshop. For the army camouflage design, I just used an effect called Sponge, and the dispersed ambient lighting was created using an effect called Clouds.. or difference clouds.. one of them

The men at the bottom were just photoshopped from various pics of mini-soldier action figures, which I tediously cropped out individually, and color-overlayed them with an appropriate colour.

Note that there are 2 images - one perfect for a widescreen wallpaper (or a powerpoint background! - but it is strictly copyrighted... unless you want to pay :D), and another for either square monitor wallpaper, or more likely, a game background.

HM Audio Field Assignment

For my mashup, I used the following two songs:
1. Requiem for a Dream (for those of you who don't know, the song used in EVERY trailer these days)
2. Pachelbel's Canon

At the beginning, the two pieces clash.. they work against each other to sound like a horrible horrible mix. But later on, the fast-paced melody of Requiem slows down... and quiets down a bit, and Pachelbel's Canon comes more into focus, and the two sound a lot better. This occurs at around 1:24. Enjoy :).

Clicky :)

If that doesn't work, just manually type in:
