Well the whole thing feels a bit heavy - not necessarily a bad thing. If you were to stick with this design, the 1 would need to be matched in perspective to the player. Have you looked at sports plays (diagrams)? They might be an interesting place to start. Also, I liked the idea of the string. What if you combined the string around the finger with a championship ring. For this audience though, anything is better than nothing.
