Use an old piece of technology
Today I used a floppy drive to transfer my data from my home to my school account. To be honest it was harder that a USB because USB stores far more data then a floppy drive. A floppy drive can only store 2 MB of data. By using a floppy drive I realized the importance of technology in our lives. Floppies are much harder to use than the modern technology and they are not realiable, you can lose data easily. In contrast USB's are much more realiable and data can not be lost. Floppy has a bigger size than a USB in volume, therefore carring floppy is harder than carring USB. You will mostly find only one colour of floppy (black) and in only one shape but for USB you will find many colours and many designs.

Now-a-days people like to listen to the music (mp3,mp4) now haveing a Floppy will not help them but if you have a flash drive you can at least take a listen to the music.A floppy and a USB both work in the same manner, except that one (USB) can hold more information then other. Both can be used to write and erase data as much as you want. The speed of Storing data in USB is much faster then storing data in a floppy drive. To conclude in speed, capacity, size and reliability USB (modern tecnology) is far better than floppy (old technology). Lets face it, the floppy drive is slower and you can damage and loss data easily, and frankly they just aren’t as cool to use!

Field Assignment - Try something open source

Best open source software out there:
FIREFOX!

Firefox makes up almost 20% of the worlds web browser usage, only second to (the terrible) Internet Explorer. What makes it so desirable is its huge customization features available, as well as the thousands of user add-ons created for everyone's daily needs.

And because its open source, anyone is constantly improving on its design. The best part is that its being deigned by users, for users! Who else knows what the people really want in their browser than the people themselves?

I urge anyone who is still using IE to make the switch to the new Firefox 3.0 now!

Cinematographer/ Editer ya'll

SORRY THIS IS LATE AND REALLY BAD, I HAD TO RE-DO THIS THREE TIMES NOW, I GUESS THE DATA GOT CORRUPT, SORRY BISHY

Ok my career choice would be Videographer/ Editor- in snowboarding! This would be a awesome career choice for me because I love filming/ editing/ snowboarding/ skateboarding. Some of the challenges of my job would be filming in conditions of -20, getting kicked out of spots, countless hours sitting infront of a computer editing, and many more I can't think of/ don't know about. I would get to film and snowboard with pros, meet a ton of boarder babes, and shred and tweak- all over the world! I would also go to the premires all over the world (example: MDP's Double Decade and KOS's No Correct Way premireing October 4th at princess twin cinema uptown! Get your tix at meltdown!) ! Mack Dawg Productions, MDP's People crew, Kids On Shred Productions, Team Thunder, and Sandbox Productions are just a few examples of production companies in this industry! I have no idea how much they make but its gotta be alot! You would have to go to college for Cinematography, go to a couple video workshops, make friends in the industry to help get you the job, and intern at the production company you would want to work for just to get in! My equipment would consist of Panny HVX200/ Sony VX1000 and Final Cut, represent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Animaion carrier

I want to be an animator because I enjoy animating. The most frequent job requirements for Flash animation are to have solid experience in Flash animation and Actionscript. I basically have that already so I’m set, I just need to learn a bit more in Actionscript such as the ‘do while’ command, changing the stage size, and drawing vectors programmatically. Flash animation isn’t the only career there is in animation. There’s also 3D character animation, environmental effects, and special effects (just to name a few). Video gaming seams to be pretty popular, and it makes sense because the production values of video games now a days are going through the roof, because of that; game developers such as Naughty Dog and Insomniac are really trying their best to make their work place seem more attractive than ever. Their requirements for the job include experience with Maya (3D modeler/animation tool) and a BA degree in post-secondary education. Animators work as a team so communication is very important. Generally, animators will earn $45,000 to $80,000 a year.

Photography : )

Job Description ..
Photographers use either traditional cameras that record images on film that is then developed into prints, or digital cameras that electronically record images that can then be downloaded to a computer and printed out. Those who use traditional cameras may also develop their own film, which is a complicated process involving a darkroom and treating the film or prints in a series of chemical and water baths. Others choose to send their film to laboratories for processing. Before they can take a picture, photographers have to make many technical decisions. First they must decide what equipment will be needed to best shoot their subject. They have to choose the appropriate cameras, lenses, filters, film stocks, and lighting equipment. If they have to rely on natural light, as nature photographers and photojournalist often do, this usually means positioning themselves in the right place to get the best effect with the light available, or waiting until the light is just right.

Earnings..
Photographers can be full-time employees of newspapers, magazines, other photographers, advertising agencies, or a wide variety of other companies. However, many photographers work part-time, or as freelancers, offering their services to several clients rather than being restricted to one organization or individual. Most full-time photographers earn between $30,000 and $55,000 a year. The national average wage for all photographers is just over $16 an hour. This translates to roughly $34,000 a year for those who can find full-time work. Those working for newspapers and periodicals tend to make more than those working for other professional or scientific services. Full-time photographers with lots of experience and good reputations can make over $100,000 a year.

Education..
There are no specific educational requirements for freelance or portrait photographers. However, in today’s job market, you are unlikely to get much work without at least some training in the photographic arts, whether it’s acquired through a formal degree or diploma program, vocational training, or extensive work experience. Many photographers benefit from the discipline and training of a formal education. Photographers who want to find work as photojournalists, or in industrial or scientific photography, are generally expected to have a degree or diploma in an area such as journalism or photography. Degrees in visual arts and communications may also be acceptable when combined with a demonstrated proficiency with a camera. In addition to teaching them about things like equipment, film processing, and composition, post-secondary programs usually offer aspiring photographers the opportunity to build their portfolio. A portfolio is a collection of samples of a photographer’s work. It is evidence of his or her talent and skill, and its contents are often the deciding factor when potential employers are deciding whether or not they want to hire the services of the photographer. A good portfolio is crucial to finding work.

3D Modeler

Careers Assignment

A 3D modeler is a person who creates small scale models of real objects on a computer for use in movies, or animated films. They make objects that range from still objects to objects that move, objects like tables to people or animals. A main modeling process is called Polygonal Modeling. Polygonal Modeling is points in 3D space, called vertices that are connected in a linear fashion to form a polygonal mesh. The vast majority of 3D models today are built as textured polygonal models. These models are the most flexible and easiest to work with. Another process is called NURBS. NURBS surfaces are defined by Spline curves, which are influenced by weighted control points. Increasing the weight of one point will pull the curve closer to that point. NURBS are particularly suitable for organic modeling.
As a 3D modeler you can sell your old models on an online marketplace specifically designed for modelers to sell off old models. You can make more money off of old models because companies can save a lot of money by buying a pre-made model instead of hiring someone to create one from scratch. This is a great way to make money and create a name for yourself as a 3D modeler.
To become a 3D modeler you are required to have a minimum qualification of an arts degree through college or university. Great experience with computers and software that you would use in the workplace. Such as Lightwave, this program is used in the industry today to create 3D models to be used in games and film.

Career Choice.....

I wish to persue the career path of a Graphic Designer!! I use photoshop a lot so that is why it interests me. The career focuses on professional visual communication involving logos and anything to do with designing and developing a visual product. Some graphic designers work as independently and others just with companies to create the business or company's "identity" with various graphic and visual communications. Usually the desired work experience for hiring is around 1-3 years (from my research) and it varies a lot for different jobs. Sometimes they ask for a College-University education for a job, but other times, only a few years of experince in the feild. Junior graphic designers typically make between $20,000 and $57,000 a year. In the intermediet feild, anywhere between 25,000 and 90,000 dollars a year!!
